Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I confess to having drawn a boundary when Tink casually announced that she'd take a few of my round dozen Villeroy & Boch bowls and plates with her when she went to university. We don't have "best" crockery any more, though, it's all in the cupboards to be used.

I do keep a pair for best though. I once went to a hospital appt in a pair of purple leopard print ones and it's traumatised me since!

Best underwear? No, but having said that I do have one of *those* bras and matching knickers that I only wear with *going out* clothes.

I bought a formal, winter coat (in an excellent sale!) a few years ago with the intention of keeping it for 'best'. Not really sure what sort of 'best' I had in mind but I've only worn it once (for a funeral) since and had completely forgotten about it until I came across it by chance in the wardrobe. Next winter, I'm going to wear it as much as possible because it is a really lovely coat :)

And if today's hail is anything to go by, you might still get a bit of wear out of it this winter!
