Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Well, in total there's just short of 6 miles at the eastern end of the Hythe canal with a runnable path on both banks. Between those 2 points there are 12 bridges, 5 road & 7 foot bridges.
My notion was to build up my mileage to attempt a 10 mile(ish) run there before the XC season kicks off again.
If anyone actually wants to make an outing of it let me know

Is there still a railway at "Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch"? My grandparents used to take us on it, some 45 years ago.

There used to be a number of training areas at Lydd where we did live firing in built up areas (otherwise known by the acronym FISH - Fighting In Somebody's House). That's somewhere around there too, I think.

Yeah, all still there.
rhdr.org.uk is on my route, and the Hythe Ranges are less than a quarter mile away from it.
There's an artillery range at Lydd, but that's way off my track.

And finding a day to run past those ranges when there's no firing, there is good weather, and low tide, and other commitments permit has so far been impossible for me.

Cool! Thanks for the railway link. That looks even better than I remember it :-)

Hythe & Lydd ranges, that was the bit I was forgetting. I think the village we ran around was probably at Hythe.
