Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hubby and I picked up some lightweight collapsible cups (as described by RH) from a running shop outside of Antwerp for our future use.

Rosehip, the RSPB at Sandy has big bins full of seed that you can fill paper bags with.

Our local garden center does loose bird seed. Maybe yours does too?

Going to start taking my own own tubs to the shops and maybe even the curry house. We have zillions of them! I also use them for my packed lunch, freezing leftovers, as just a tub to put 'stuff' in temporarily.

We finally have a compost bin, only just started though.

I might ask my friend if she'll make me some mesh bags for veg shopping in exchange for something. She is handy with a sewing machine, it would take me a week to make a bag.

I still seem to have tones of recycling, our blue wheelie bin is totally full every fortnight, I'm not actually sure where it all comes from...

We are lucky to have good butchers in town, a fishmonger twice a week on the market and a grocer also on the market. We have 2 independent deli shops, but they're very expensive. We also have a zero waste shop in the next town over (10 miles) but I've only squinted through the window so far.

Cleaning products are bought in bulk via my OH work, but they're all main brand stuff and come in plastic bottles. Of course, I could take them to the zero waste shop but this requires a level of organisation I am yet to achieve...

I hadn’t tried the RSPB as I assumed I’d need to mortgage the house ;) I was buying loose from G&Ms, but it had got more expensive than online and not so much choice as there used to be

Re: takeaways, I've got 2 tiffin tins and sometimes take the smaller one to work with my lunch in.

Frank Water comes in glass bottles. Although I don:t buy water as I filter my own tap stuff, the bottle is useful to go in the side pocket of a Fjallraven rucksack, which is too small for most standard water carriers.

Rosehip what is the silicon bottle that you can fill with gels and do you make your own gel?

I don't use gels much and certainly don't have a chance to make my own,

but I saw these when someone said they filled them with a peanut butter jam mix!

This may sound daft, but I hadn't realised tech t-shirts contained plastic. I don't know what I thought they were.
