Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Ooops - to be fair I believed the cushioning protects you bollox, even ignoring my own experience of running pain free in minimal for the time Adidas feet you wear and struggling in the Nike Air Max that "protected", I cant knock others for being similarly stupid ;)

Ooh, that was interesting. Summary:

:-) Lighter/minimal shoes are not "better" but are useful as part of a mixed kit bag
:-) Mix up your running - paces, terrain and surfaces
:-) Mid/forefoot is good, but get there slowly and carefully.

For some conditions, heel striking is better and cushioned shoes are helpful. :-O

Hi Pose posse

Sorry not been on for a while - I've dropped in to do a blatant plug for a charity run I'm organising. Would be great to see some proper running there!

Thread - http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=54387

Event - http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewracedetails.php?id=91070

Website - sites.google.com

Should appear on ukresults.net and Marathon Talk soon...

evening.

two quick questions if i may.

Firstly, I'm looking for a coach in Bristol, I've moved down south and could do with the odd session here and there

Secondly, I ran beachy head on Saturday with some friends who both said my shoes are wrong as Im over pronating really badly. Is this likely to be right? or is it that a for/mid-foot strike looks like bad pronation and is actually fine?

One friend seems skeptical of the whole minimal shoe thing, but I think I'm getting there, slowly :-)

Looks like this thread is dead...

But.... anyone know where I can get NB RC130s? Looks like they stopped making them and they were perfect for me.

Cheers!

Failing that, anyone know the link to the minimalist / barefoot running

If you want to get people to watch you running - you need to video yourself using your mobile phone or digital camera. Side on, full length for a few strides, is sufficient. Use a cloud storage system as discussed here

http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=47880
And share the file with a coach or coaches for constructive comment, either in private or on the thread if you dare.
