My friend was once threatened with being DQ'd at Newcastle marathon because he said I was "coaching" him! I was jogging along on the grass as he ran up the finish straight cheering him on!

It is essential you can hear instructions and guidance from race marshals intended to help to safeguard you. According to England Athletes rules we will disqualify any runner seen wearing headphones. Please leave them at home or give them to a friend to look after on the day." So who ARE the anti-fun brigade?
