Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I finished watching Freezing Embrace on Walter Presents C4 catch-up. I can highly recommend it. There’s something about the way the Danes, Norwegians, Finns and Icelanders incorporate the landscape and culture into their crime stories. Gently building the tension, character analysis, snow, eating and discussing meals and ever-present good coffee. :) (I also enjoy Swedish ones, but often these are set in cities and for some reason; the small-town snow setting adds something for me.)

Freezing Embrace is a serious story, but there are also elements of comedy in the way the characters rib each other and use sarcastic wit. It really makes me want to go to Finland.

We have started watching The Walking Dead from the very start. It's on Sky Max. I'm enjoying it (although it took me a little while to adjust to Andrew Lincoln in the lead role)

Me and the boy managed about 8 series of that - it's good fun, but after eight series it gets a bit tiring.

I was thinking that it must be dragging things out a bit by then. As I recall it runs to 11 or 12 seasons?

Yep - and then various spin-off shows.

I might give that a go RS, thanks :-)

Think I managed 6 or 7 seasons of TWD. It was good for most of the first 5 but tailed off for me then. Has anyone tried any of the spin-offs?

I’m a few episodes in to The Long Call on ITV catch-up. Really enjoying that too. Crime drama set in Devon. Some of it is filmed in Bristol right by my friend’s flat where I stayed for a couple of years when she was working away.

Just finished Murder Mindfully on Netflix. Highly recommended for some really dark humour.

Walter Presents on C4 - the gift that keeps on giving. All This I Will Give To You (French drama/thriller). Bloody brilliant.

Finished The Residence. Final episode was a little over-elaborate and the whole series was too elongated. Should have been a one-off film or a 4 part series. It was a bit of a slog.

We've just abandoned the third series of Hannibal. Things got a bit too pretentious.

What are you binging on at the moment?
