Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I've a little elevation graphic to each mile (if the graphic hasn't been rendered yet, because the elevation profile hasn't been retrieved, the page will reload).

Yep, nice graphs :-)

Fetch, would increasing the number of data points used to more than 10 grind the servers to a halt ??

Have a look at fetcheveryone.com/mile-view.php?id=341 I'm actually struggling to work out what the route is.

Most miles are pretty linear and obvious, but if someone chooses a very twisty one like this, then not so clear.....
Also seen ones with the route going across water etc, which doesn't look great.

If checking more than 10 points would slow things down, then when you show the map, is there any way you could draw it using extra data points from the original activity, but just use the 10 points when checking for matches ?

Couple of things from me now I've found the thread.

Love it, great to see how it develops.

I may have missed it, but are we allowed more than one time on a mile if we grab an old training run?

I seem to have made two in one place, how do I delete them?

I'm being really thick now, but I'm struggling to click into the miles; I've tried on pc and on mobile and really struggling. Am I missing anything?

Very sorry, but I always seem to struggle with new things, I'm just a bit thicky when it comes to all things online. Do think it is a fab development though.

@bonners:

The leaderboard will just show your fastest time.

To delete a mile that you've created, look for the link in the red box at the top. It says "Did you make a mistake? Delete this mile".

Clicking is quite a delicate thing at the moment - you need to get it right on the line. It's on my list to make the clickable area a bit bigger somehow.

No need to apologise.

@K5 Gus:
I chose the 10 points as I felt it would be a reasonable approximation of just about any rational mile. I don't think I'll change it for the sake of the more convoluted miles, but I might see if I can make the visual representation of the 10 checkpoints a bit more obviously "not the actual route".

I just look stupid now that you've added the elevation - in my description I've written that it's all down hill (that's how I remember it) but it totally isn't looking at the elevation map!!!!!

Any way of editing the description so that I can look less stupid?

How do I add a Fetch Mile?
Go to any entry in your training log, and look for the Build A Mile link just above the map. Click that, and drag the slider to highlight the relevant mile. Give it a name and a description, and save it!

Fetch's To Do List
6) Some way of picking up your historical visits
9) A way to see your own miles
11) Badges for creators and visitors
12) Everything else.

Fetch's Done List
1) Make run and bike into separate leaderboard tables
3) Ability to add an image.
2) A 'Back' button that returns you to the last-viewed area rather than home
4) Elevation graph
5) Larger clickable area for individual miles
7) Jump To Location box for easier navigation
8) Remove the 'Build A Mile' link if there's no GPS trace available
10) Leaderboard of people who have visited most miles
