Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Let's talk about inaugural parkruns after they've happened.

I will keep an eye out on the California one. Local-ish to me (sub 30 minute drive) but like Dinton I will let it launch and bed itself in first before venturing along. Hopefully one to go to in the Spring :-)

If it's anything like Dinton though, I am super excited about it!

Good to hear about Rasen DG. My folks are in Binbrook and while I've had many a nice run at Cleethorpes it will be good to have one a bit nearer - it would make for a decent 20 mile parkrun sandwich, although those massive Lincolnshire mountains on the way back would be tough

Just finishing off the documentation for my new parkrun at the moment.

Money is there, course agreed with landowners and a core team in place. Hoping for a mid to late November start now.

I'm keeping shtum on venue though - many 100's turning up on week one would frighten the landowner off I think - I've suggested 400 max for week one dropping down to around 200. They looked a bit terrified when I said 400 might turn up

these days the big week tends to be week two when all the tourists, heeding the call to avoid week one, turn up :)

As an example of what Flanker said - here is Loughborough...where week 1 was the smallest attendance by a long way... parkrun.org.uk

Is Coldhams Common the one PB has been trying to kick off Hells ?

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
