Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Wife’s doing Afoot this year. I’ve done it and it’s great. Round Rotherham is another nice one to support. Done that twice

Hi mattglen, I would recommend The Woldsman, the organisation was great and shanksi and I enjoyed the event. The food supplied at the checkpoints got better as the event went on and the Yorkshire tea at each village hall hit the spot. I spent far too much time sitting in the halls enjoying the amenities and chatting to folk! These LDWA events are amazing value and we are thinking of doing another one next year.

That's great to note, thanks! Very hard to pick between, as they all look like great events. It might just come down to dates and logistics

We're in NE Scotland but my sister lives in Beverley in Yorkshire so we stayed with her which made it easier.

We’ve got the Dorset Doddle this weekend. Definitely not well named, as it will be anything but a doddle: thirty miles on the SWCP from Weymouth to Swanage including the hilly bits around Lulworth Cove.

Thanks, @mattglen_ - it was a great event. Weather was generally cloudy but bright with a 10-knot wind from behind, so all very good walking conditions. (Blog now written.)

Some good vids on YouTube about the 100. This one from last year , sprightly 80 year olds doing it, lots of people seriously suffering :-)
