Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Keep myself accountable on trendweight here: trendweight.com

Am really looking forward to the weather turning for the better. Would really like to get cycling a lot more but the cold weather just puts me off too much.

Yeah, I don't cycle in the cold... and cycling, especially when we are allowed out for more than an hour and further than 5 miles from our door is really going to help. a 100 km or longer ride soon burns off the excess crap we are carrying!

Hanneke, I wonder if logging on Cronometer might be useful for you? They have a good breakdown of micro nutrients. Also find another one mynetdiary.com that looks interesting too.

Never too late to join Bex - welcome along.

Have managed to get out walking the last couple of days - glad I've got back into the habit. I'm waiting until lockdown ends properl; so I can contact a local Nordic Walking instructor to try a 'taster' session with a view to doing that to burn off calories while I'm not able to run.

Trendweight looks interesting. I track my weight on here so can see the inexorable creep since 2007. I’m on a downward trend now, but still up by 0.7 kg on last week.

I’m sure the cookies, cheese and crackers at bedtime, and g

and t after work last night didn’t help, oh, and the Easter chocolates...

AZX thanks, I have a problem with apps that you log things on, because I am far from standard both in what I eat and my underlying medical issues. They are the cause of my iron sometimes dipping below normal, which, strange sounding, isn't actually abnormal for me... I am on a ''special'' diet to make me as well as I am and as such i know exactly what I am eating, nutrient wise. I am nearly done with my iron supplementation and think once I stop taking those next week, my bowel movements will get back to normal.
My main issue is lack of movement! I went from doing hundreds of kilometers on my bike every weekend to nothing, not even walking, over night during the first lockdown. I compensated by eating too much chocolate a few months in... then dropping the excess chocolate didn't actually do much, hence being on here again...
I have always cycled a lot, all my life, as I used to typically commute at least 20 miles a day... that has all disappeared by the wayside and I think we can safely say I need to cycle to maintain weight and fitness.

I get you Hanneke. I think, like you, I need to exercise to stay in control. Not exercising means not burning off the calories but also finding more time and excuses to eat and drink. I can see the evidence in this one week I took off.

Yes... when I am out on the bike I stop for coffee & cake, a proper lunch etc, but thing is a long slow ride burns those calories and stops you from getting frustrated, stressed, bored, lonely... which is certainly what all these covid restrictions have done. I live on my own and it is so easy to grab another biscuit, chocolate etc to create some kind of feelgood factor that usually exercise gives me.
I have to say, my little walks have helped! They also seem to burn 500 calories... but deficits created by 15 hours of training on the bike like I used to, or 400 miles of commuting a month are hard to make up for!

Morning. Well, I'm back down to 70kg, 3 days after peaking at 73kg. Though my BF% is about 1.4% higher than it was. Yesterday I ate 1800 cals but only went for a 1 hour walk. I really thought it would take me two weeks to recover from my week of no exercise and eating whatever I wanted.

It seems I need to lose 100g in 24 days to win my dietbet bet.

Morning. 82.2kg which is 1.4kg up from my all time lowest but probably only half a kilo up from the comfortable low last week. Back on it today. And hopefully it’ll all kick back in.
