Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

GreP, the rule about putting the recovering hand in between the gliding arm's wrist and elbow now makes sense to me. Not looking back when breathing was a revelation.

BTW - Hi swim thread peeps:)

R4B - re. open water drills......one we did in swim week was a good sighting drill/technique. Swim 3 and breath to the side, swim 3 more then eyes up just above the water for a quick sight whilst exhaling, then breath to the side as normal.

It loses very little pace rather than the usual breast stroke sighting I used to do and a quick sight every 6 strokes should be enough not to go way off course. That said I'm about the same speed as you, so please bear that in mind as a swim health warning...

I think my elbow is almost locked with my arm straight on hand entry - which is probably shallow - around 30 degrees at a guess.
