Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Someone has logged 2,485 miles swimming this month. I rather suspect this not to be strictly accurate.

Ah - poor newbie is just starting out - sure he'll work it out soon.

In my answer to stu8... I think competition pools are all supposed to be a standard temperature (26C) but I think I've also heard that warmer pools are actually faster - but that they also cause dehydration quicker - so you can go quicker but not for as long.

Comp pools are about 78F, or 25.5C - so not far off what HW quoted. Swimming in anything warmer than that - you actually get hot very quickly - esp the distance swims!

Culford Tri this year the pool temperature was ludicrous. It was also the hottest day of the year, give or take. Yuk.

Good swim today, 64 x25m, 34 min. That's 3 min quicker than usual :) I made sure I counted accurately so maybe I've been doing myself down previously.
