Westley, I had an almost identical run stats wise tonight with 7:18mm for 81% max and no sign of drift
I am seeing my usual trend of the Tuesday Sub LT always being better than the Friday equivalent. Not hugely so, but noticeable enough. I suspect its because I take Monday as a rest day at present. That said my Thursday running is often 6 east miles and not very taxing.
I am also getting a fair few doubles in. My Sub LT days are presently doubles with an easy 5 to work and the Sub LT 10 home and with the odd other double thrown in when the other parts of life dictate the bets way for me to ensure the logistics of running/cycling to work mean the right kits in the right place

For the wrist HRM, you really do need to make it very tight, any light getting in will impact the readings. I thought the TomTom did a better job of this in the design than Garmin as you have more rubber covering the gaps.
I've also got a chest strap and alternate now and then to make sure both are in the same range, but after an hour the chest strap just sticks to 130, looks like the contact gets dry.
I've tried that gel but doesn't work either, so an hour in, I have to turn my chest one off and go back to the wrist one on my Garmin 225, but I'm pretty happy with the reliability of that now, but nothings 100%.

I've found the new HR-run chest strap from Garmin to be very good and more reliable than the old HR chest strap.

Interesting comment U2RAB, I tried tightening mine up a notch on the strap (which I think may have stretched a bit since I bought it) and it was no better. May try it again but TomTom do say don't overtighten it.

I've got the forerunner 235 and did a bit of testing with the HR strap and it worked pretty well. On the week I wore both and 2 watches the wrist strap perfomred better then the chest strap. The watch does need to be tight though.

The chest straps work well for sweaty people, which is what I am! G

So am I G! Sweat all over, but the contact area goes dry, need to carry the lube with me I think for a top up mid run.

The best lube that worked for me was spit! (Eww!) Always available, made the electrical contact, easy to apply! Literally just a wee lick off the thumb, then wipe across inside of strap, can even do it while running (well, if they only layer is a t-shirt - harder if you've got 4 layers on, mid-winter!)
Good to hear optical HR is working better now. Is that the general consensus? I thought I had read that they were pretty erratic in the first iterations that came out? G
