Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

wow, check you oout Vicksta, is that all with the buggy? I am buggy running 1-2times a week, but as im mara training I need the other runs too. Did Craneleigh 21 last weekend whichwasreally tough for me, the combination of step up from16 miles to21 with the hills and sun was not easy but overall im not doing so bad. It will not be a PB but I am sowlygetting fitter. Wish I couldlosse the weight quicker though. Never mind. No miracles after no3 :-0

Hello running mummies :-) I haven't posted on here for ages but that probably because Jasmine is nearly 3 and India started school this year!

Sounds like there is lots of good running going on and some eager mums wanted to get running again post baby :-)

It's taken a while, but I'm now running much better than I was before I had my girls and enjoying it a whole lot more too! 5k and half mara PB's for me this year and now after a 10k PB. I also ventured into the world of triathlon and I'd forgotten how much I love swimming!

Happy running :-) :-)

Mummyv, no still going out solo at weekends, but 2-3 times a week with the buggy. I need to do speed work though as you don't really get the pace up with the buggy and I am still very slow compared to pre pregnancy (understandably, am not expecting miracles).

Well done on your 21.

Thanks toks.
Glad things are well Lills.

Not running related but any advice on new siblings? Boypie is 5 and is delighted with his new brother but he's easily upset and yesterday asked why he has to to nursery when we are all off. Fair point but how do you explain that we aren't doing anything? Anyway we've said Monday is a family day and we will go to the science museum in Glasgow. I've told mr pie I think we need a quiet weekend. I think the combo of boypies birthday the new baby and all the guests has made him excitable and a bit cheeky. Lol.

We had some terrible behaviour from A after E arrived. He's been a bit better recently, but honestly he was really pushing all our buttons. It's understandable but at the same time I couldn't let some of the behaviour go unchallenged (hitting for example). We get him involved and allow him to 'help' where we can. He also goes to nursery, we explained it as being necessary to get him ready for school in September. We did reduce his hours though and he was pleased to be coming home at 3:30 rather than 5.

It's always a while before things adjust after a new baby. I think the best way is to reassure, be patient but stand your ground too.

The thing we try to do is still do1:1, at least once a week, doing something special with each one of the bigger ones. With going to school, it was actully my eldest who really didn't want to gobackto school after Remy wasborn, he loves school but felt like he was missing out, he really enjoys his big brother role andit took a while for him to realise he still getstime with him after school. Alfie (4in June) on the other hand slipped into the "I can not do anything on my own now" mode which was extremely frustrating...just getting over it and Remy is7mths....it's a learning curve for all of us :-)

I've entered a marathon! Chelmsford marathon on 19 th October. I figure I can do most of the training with the running buggy. Not 100% sure about it but dont need to commit until July ish. I've never done an autumn marathon so it will be a novelty training over the summer.

thanks mummyV. we spent sunday and monday doing things as a family - a trip to the science centre in glasgow (which he loves) and a trip to see Brittania. He seemed to enjoy it and although a bit naughty on the monday night he's been much better since. we also told the grandparents not to bring any treats for him. as he was getting WAY too much.

in other news I did a wee run, 3 miles in 30 mins. everything felt A okay but I've left it a few days before going again
