Elsie Too
Vicksta and mummyV - so sorry you've both had bad long runs. Just remember that you are amazing to be training for a marathon this soon after having a child. Doing a marathon any time is amazing especially mixed with being a mum.
I had a great run this morning (sorry!) I did a buggy free park run. My previous post Bodie none buggy PB was 29.02 and I was hoping for 28.30 this time but I managed 27.56. I am so pleased with that and feeling much better about the 10k next weekend although I have decided not to aim for sub 60 and just take what comes.
mummyV sorry to hear about Alfie and the bf. Good that he is sleeping through though. Try to think of the positives that you don't have the fight to wean him now.

Alfie is as strange baby. Fact. Very happy and smiley but does things his own way. He actually just fed from me before bed but would only take my right boob today....its the left one thats sore of course Still, its progress, I think basically he has become lazy with having more bottles in the day when im at work and now thinks if i can express and theres formula, whats not to like about free flowing bottles lol....
Brilliant work, Elsie, well done!!!

Sorry you had a tough one as well MummyV. You do have a while to go though! If I have a shocker at VLM I might be joining you at Halstead! Well done Elsie.

Ach Vicksta I hope you feel better about it soon - I look on my 'bad' training runs as a good sign the bad one is used up an race day will be better :-). I was glad I'd had a bit of a bad streak recently and have been feeling pretty rubbish since my only proper long run - forces me to rest before the big day
mummy. Hope you recover quickly an the wee guy changes his mind. I know I sometimes moan about not having the bottle choice but think I'd be terrible if that was the only one.... An the boobs too ouchy mibbe the lurginess is putting him off ?
I've no run much all week. Feeling really tired. Glad of taper time really but I've gone a bit mad lol. Manage a mile with buggy after Parkrun volunteering today an other than mibbe a wee bit stiff I think I feel good when actually running. Try for a wee one tomorrow then a wee bit wake me up runs next week before Lochaber on the Sunday
You'll be grand Elsie - that was a good run :-). Just enjoy your 10k so you'll e desperate to get back for more!
*wanders off trying not to think of these 20 milers folks have been up to*

Vicksta, Halstead is always there But I think you will be fine at VLM, I am hoping to make it to Fetchpoint so may even see you, although I will be with Alfie so may not be as focussed while people spotting.
Smout - I did think that re my milk except i did an experiment yesterday after he refused with tears 3 times, i sat next to him, hand squeezed 2ml out and he got all excited at the sight of it in the bottle and gulped it down. think we can safely say he wants the milk, just no longer the boobs (or not for now)....doing my head in!!!! see what tomorrow brings....at least i now have 1 happy boob lol Re 20 milers, well i may never do those either if i continue this way, my other half has had a similar cold for 3 weeks now so we shall see, its true its better to die on a traning run than on a race though

That is true about it being better to die on a training run, Smout. But doesn't give confidence for the race
Hope to see you at Fetchpoint mummyV, we did think about Jon bringing Alex along but he isn't confident with him enough to be out and about for a long day with long queues for nappy changes etc. Shame but he can have a play with my medal when he is home (Alex that is, and assuming I finish that is!).
MummyV is Alfie teething? Maybe it's uncomfortable to boob feed at the moment but he'll get back to it once it is easier?

He is teething like crazy, he soaks his tops within seconds but he has got 4 teeth already so i didn't really think of that...maybe...anything is possible....It is a nightmare going to the marathon with little ones, i am probably just taking him in my baby bjorn and will have to hope he deos not keep doing no2's and similar as i am staying put and not leaving fetchpoint lol

I've just bout the FIRST book to see how that goes as I know that I am not managing the miles I would or should do. Hey ho. It's a trade off
I'm not getting fit after pregnupcy, I'm getting fat. It's shocking, I can't help myself

Katie, my club follows the FIRST schedule. But I am ashamed to say I didn't even manage to do that much running in my VLM build up, let alone do the cross training! A lot of people have had good results on it though.

I was saying I might hang my marathon hat up.. I'm fickle. I'll see what happens
I'm hoping it'll suit me as I'm too tired to run to work every day so cycle a fair bit. There's also a pool near by.
