No, there were 5 timeouters so just a 7 person group of actual games.

Lost 1.5-0.5 against my final opponent in the group - and it's looking like he'll top it assuming he wipes away the fourth place player. But I will finish the group in third I think. Not enough to qualify, but I am pleased with my efforts. chess.com Have signed up to another tournament: chess.com but it has no start date. Is it just a case of waiting until all the places fill up? Or is there some hidden start date that I'm missing? |

Start date choice is actually an 'advanced option' when setting up a tournament. Also under 'advanced options' auto start when full is on by default. I should have checked for some new year 960 tournaments but definitely not feeling a day per move! |

I don't think there is any way you can finish third Fetch. Either second or first.

Start date seems a bit random for most competitions on chess.com. Some go as per advertised date, some when full, I think the organiser often just does what they want.

19.5 is a very creditable performance fetch, it looks like it won't quite be good enough to qualify but it's close!

I picked up most of those through timeouts, but the win against the 1571, and the draw against the 13XX player were very nice.

(My mistake, I thought 3rd place had enough matches left to overhaul me)

I'm almost certainly through now, still one remaining close game which I could potentially lose, but my closest rival looks like they'll be on 3 losses anyway. All my other games are going one way unless I walk into a mate in one again ![]() |
