We bought a little pop up awning it doesn’t have ground sheet but for what we need now it’s enough to give us shelter should it be raining and not too expensive until we work out what we need. Just need to get out in the van really!

I went yesterday - mainly to see the different layouts and sizes and try to make a decision about which I want/need. I've done lots of internet research but being inside is a whole different thing. I'm thinking about the Autotrail Expedition 66 - which is the layout I come back to time and time again (and hired one like this in NZ) but keep looking at the Expedition 67 too for the extra seatbelts (but will I really need them?). The Rimor Horus 66 is very similar to the Exped 66 so I'm now working out what the differences are between them in terms of specs. Any feedback anyone has on any of these or similar would be appreciated. Or if you know of a second hand one going at a bargain price - even better!

the 66 is the same layout as our swift 122 and @GimmeMedals 's van. We chose it for being able to sleep lengthwise and not climbing over eachother in the night as you do for a transverse bed. In British weather when sitting around in the van, the rear lounge is a lot more loungy than the dinette is - but it's personal choice, the ones like the 67 are very popular We deliberately wanted two belts to avoid any chance of offspring deciding to travel with us ![]() |

Bought our second hand, that way the niggles have usually been ironed out. Would recommend going for one withmileage that shows they've actually used it, rather than v low mileage that might be because it's been back at the dealers for work a lot

oh and use a local to you dealer if you can, for warranty work etc - not like cars where the same manufacturer lets you use any dealer.

This is like mine autotrader.co.uk I DON't like the new version - the Carrera- there is less storage and a smaller kitchen - though the door to the washroom is better. |

We prefer the two longer beds for the same reason as Rosehip. We had a French bed in our first motorhome and Geoff soon got fed up of climbing over me to get out of bed. Also 2 seatbelts means there’s no option of taking others away with us. It suits us nicely for how we want to use it. |

We have an aversion to making up beds every night so there are many that wouldn’t suit us.

We went the same route @GimmeMedals Our new van had two fold up seats under the front bunket seats but we took them out to increase storage space and reduce weight by 25kg per seat. (The absence of any rear pax seats removes any suggestion that we might take the grandchildren away with us too 😉) |
