Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I could say similar, Mandymoo. I also had to drive through a flooded road (having carefully watched how far up the wheels the water went on two 4x4s that drove through before me). And I foolishly followed Google maps up a mile of Singletrack road where I met 3 oncoming vehicles…

Hope the rest of your stay is peaceful!

I'll be travelling with my ebike on a rack on the back of the van. My wife told me of someone who had 2 ebikes nicked off the back in broad daylight while they were queueing for the Santander ferry. Apparently 4 blokes with bolt cutters had them away in double-quick time.

I'm going to be using 2 U-locks and 2 cable locks, taking the battery off, and removing the controller. Any other tips? I am working on the assumption that if you make it more difficult to sell, you make it less attractive.

You’re doing all the things that we do with ours, XB. Not much use to them without a battery.

Is there no way you could put the bike in the van while you travel?

Not really, Cath; we've got a fixed bed and the space under is full of storage boxes and my wife's folding ebike.

Ahhh fixed bed will do it… then your best bet is to do as you’re thinking - make it less attractive for the opportunist thief.
