Yes, parakeets in my local park yesterday, which is unusual. I've mentioned before my surprise that after arriving in Norwich many years ago that they have largely remained confined to their original habitat, a stand of poplars on a riverside marsh, and have not spread at anything like the rate I expected them to. Maybe they're on the move now, though.

"An unstoppable invasion" This was only published last week. itv.com I find it curious, because so far I've only seen them in very, very isolated spots and multiple times in those isolated spots. Like literally a small park, and that small park only. Even yesterday, it was the exact same spot - almost to the tree - in a small park I'd seen them a couple of years back. |

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
These 3 guys roam free in the village where we now live, apparently there were several guinea fowl but the others have succumbed over the years, they look like 3 hoodlums 😂 |

I spotted 2 on a little farmstead on the edge of the Moors 2 weeks ago. So tame, so curious.

Those are very cute Mrs Jigs 😍 We had merlin pick up both Great Spotted and Middle Spotted woodpeckers today on a walk through the woods into Pontgibaud. Suspect it was just a greater spotted and a juvenile, but didn't get a good enough view to know for sure. Also saw what looked like a kestrel (flapping and hovering) but bigger. Don't know what it was and light behind made it hard to say exactly what colours etc. |

@Curly45 , I'm pretty sure I saw a Middle Spotted Woodpecker in Austria a couple of years ago but the identification was frustratingly short of full confidence, not quite a good enough view. Also in Bulgaria last year, same again.

Maybe it was both then? I definitely saw two birds but just thought Merlin was having a Merlin moment 😂
