That's weird, seeing as you've got a PB that's 2 seconds faster than mine, we're aiming for the same time, and you entered before I did!

Hi all! I'm in the slow zone - black pen on Regent Road, anyone else going to be around there?
Also, how strict is the no headphones rule at Edinburgh? I'm not worried about running without, but I do find it much easier with music. And I feel as though I often turn up to races having obediently left mine at home, and then find everyone else around me at the start has theirs regardless...

I can't comment on how strict they are out on the course, but they do state that the "use of audio headsets is not permitted..." in their FAQs so they're clearer stricter than those events that simply "request" or "advise against".

I read a couple of blogs of people annoyed that on the day, loads of people had headphones.
I suspect if you are fast and aiming to "place" or it matters to bag a place in some other race or get an official time, then they might DQ you. If you are a plodder like me, I don't imagine they will be so strict.
Personally, I wouldn't risk it; but then, I never race with music.

btw, does anyone know if there will be a fetchpoint this year? I know there was one last year. It would be lovely to have a little crowd of cheerers to look forward to

the last race I ran a couple of weeks ago, the organisers said on the start line " if we see you with headphones then you will be removed from the race". certainly the race I was running at the time was not closed to traffic, unlike the Edinburgh marathon. although since this is IAAF ratified, they may want to stamp there authority on the race/runners. if you do run with headphones, be careful.
wind keeps changing, slightly northerly now. should stop looking really.

I bloody hope so Maz, I have been!
There have always been large numbers of runners with headphones at Edinburgh but I get the impression that there is a harder line being taken across races this year - I'm not planning on chancing it.
