The increasing level of of traffic on the BG/JNC route in recent years has chewed it up and eroded it quite badly in several places. Particularly when it's wet and the bracken is up (i.e. now) parts of it aren't very pleasant at all, especially when you are trying to preserve your legs for later. The attempt I was on 10 days ago were cursing it when they reached Dunmail.
