Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Am I right that Calf Crag -> Sergeant Mann -> High Raise is slightly more distance, but Calf Crag -> High Raise -> Sergeant Mann means slightly more climb?

I suspect that there is little to no (general) practical difference in the order that you do these. (wind direction OTD may be one factor, but that's about all I can think of).

The Harvey’s map suggests the path up beck to Sergeant Man is better than HR. Only time I did it we were on path rather than in beck.

I wish Opentracking could work out a way to compress sections, so that I didn't have to scroll the whole way through The Paddy each time I refresh the page!

Within 3 seconds of the planned split for Scafell! that's outrageous

Looks like he lost a few minutes Scafell Pike to Scafell.

I’m assuming, based on the fact I haven’t read his build up blogs, that he’s following a schedule that can be found online, rather than making his own up and following it.

rf_fozzy, underfoot conditions. The ground you cross climbing Beck Gill to HR is horrible and tussocky, the climb to SM is either a decent trod or fairly benign ground. Plus HR to TK is way faster ground than SM to TK. HR/SM is the traditional route, anyone who has spent any time running both routes now goes SM/HR.

According to Twitter, Karl Grey of Calder Valley has just done 9:30 for the JNC.

That's awesome. Especially given how wet much of the ground is at present. And it hopefully removes the anolmaly of Graham Patten having the fastest time (9.58) but it being unofficial as he wasn't supported. The fastest previous official time was 10.15 by Scoffer a couple of years ago.
