Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Slightly off topic but I see the record for Ireland's BG equivalent The Dennis Rankin Round has been broken with a 13.37 clocking by Steven Shields that takes 46 mins off Konrad Rawlik's (Jasmin's husband) existing record from 2017.

Definitely a summer for breaking records ( or in my case an old favourite Denby mug :-( )

I occasionally have thoughts about a BG (going back a page) and then realise that it's about 40miles (or 64km) too far for me.

Maybe even 50miles too far

I used to, on occasion, be able to have semi-respectable runs on the road, XC and even the odd shorter fell race.

At the moment I'm wondering if my running and cycling days might be behind me if I can't shake these niggles.

I often think that, but then I forget and get up the next morning and go for a run. Senior moment ;-)

I'm with Rosehip on the enjoying reading about it all, and have no round aspirations. I have such dodgy ankles, one little misstep and I'd be toast...plus vertigo which makes steep descents really fun (not!).

rf and MC, I'm fine on the flat (though prefer a bit of undulation), hills (going up) slay me! ;)

FF - Careful here - "Ireland's BG equivalent The Dennis Rankin Round". I think you mean Northern Ireland. ;).

I know you will have seen it but Paddy O'Leary made a great film last year about the Wicklow Round. Like John Kelly he didn't hold the record very long though...
