Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

If I was making this choice, I'd got with Paul's version - I don't like that descent to Foxes Tarn and as FF alluded to earlier, if you miss the entrance to the Climber's Traverse it's a long slog back up to Mickledore.

FF - I assume that when Paul did it he traversed the full length of Lord's Rake rather than dropping into it via Deep Gill and the WWT ?

Sorry, yes I can - that was Paul's trace, right? It's difficult picking out the detail at that scale, but on the face of it I'd say that he DID drop into Deep Gill (the entrance is right next to Symond's Knott).

NE I think he went via Deep Gill. That's what the trace suggests to me too and I have a recollection of having seen footage of him on that section.

I think they lost time at foxes - tracker went a bit crazy (I know poor signal) but was slow too.

It's looking like the "lead" that Sabrina gained through not stopping will all but be wiped out by Great End. With the weather coming in and no chance to stop for over 4 hours (at Hard Knott) it will be interesting to see what the relative positions are by then. Paul pushed on to the Duddon Road before taking around an hours break, which was about 7 hours for him from Great End. I suspect by then his relative lead may be sufficient to cover that. His next significant break was at Tilberthwaite where he took around 2 hours after just under 2 days but if Sabrina sticks to her plan that will be cancelled out by her own break shortly afterwards at Hobbiton. So by tomorrow morning we should have a pretty good idea of whether Sabrina has a realistic chance of the record.
