rebecca, I think there's some kind of mental thing when you go back to walking breaks after doing the 20 min run. It does get better. I really struggled from about week 7 I remember. Good luck, you'll get there.

I think you might be right alpenrose. I was fine until the walking break. Think a culmination of that the weather and being so tired. I can't be too hard on myself probably only missed it by a few minutes but it was the feeling afterwards of being so fed up! I have felt so great after all of the other runs and excited for the next. Now dreading the 25 minute run but hope you are all right about it being one off.

Well done on your running so far Rebecca and welcome to the wonderful world of Fetch.
I'm just repeating what everyone else has said - we all get bad days. A couple of things that always helped me. When you go through a bad patch try to remember that it is just that - its just a patch. It will pass. To get you through a bad patch try thinking about just getting to the next tree or next lamppost or next bench or next whatever is in front of you. It breaks your session down into smaller, more manageable chunks.
Stick at it. The fun and enjoyment will come back.

I've just started week 9 this morning. As you get past the half way stage I have one piece of advice. If you think you're going to slowly then you're going at the right pace. Trust me. I've been taking a similar route each time as I make notes of certain landmarks en route with splits from previous runs. I decided to take it really easy today and was 30 seconds slower at a landmark which was usually around 15 minutes for me. I managed to complete the 30 minute run with a little left in the tank. I'll be doing the same thing next time, slow and steady. Better to finish and be slow than too quick and have to stop.
