Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Oh, I don't disagree with that Ceratonia.

It was the stats for athletics and cycling for example, which _if_ true would mean that some of us on here would have encountered this :-)

Doping in amateur sport is rife. Most of the drug bans in Welsh rugby are for PEDs, not recreational drugs, in the lower leagues. I read an article in one of the broadsheets last year about how sub elite cyclists, aiming at the pro ranks, are avoiding Sportives in Italy. Blokes in their twenties are getting smashed by 55 year old bankers who spend 60 hours a week at their work desks.

I've not got hold of any PEDs & have no interest in doing so, but getting hold of them is extremely easy & beating the current WADA tests isn't difficult either.

I am aware of a recreational lifter, not entering any competitions, having rhabdomyolysis following him taking a "supplement" he was sold at his gym.
Despite nearly dying, I suspect he's still doing it.

Sorry, dimbo here - PEDs? I looked it up and Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea seemed to be the definition of choice. What does it actually stand for?

I suspect that the numbers in the article are somewhat overblown to create a sensational article, or at least I hope so. Mind you from what I’ve seen in the sub-elite cycling and running circuits I wouldn’t be surprised to discover I am the only person on the planet who is clean (aside for caffeine that is)..!

Lots of coffee :) and I do use an inhaler twice a day. I would prefer not to have to use the inhaler but asthma gets in the way if I don't.

Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea is listed as a side effect on the medication being used as a PED I bet :-)
