Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Oh well, if it’s on I might do GO33 again, that’s usually the first weekend in November. That or the Jedburgh 3 peaks the weekend before (though I will probably have lost what little endurance fitness I had by that time!)

Dipps - just to start your November listing. Condition 14 is scheduled for 7th Nov. And I've got plenty of time to get fit for it. Calf is doing well now.

Having just posted to my running club suspending all our organised club runs (7 sessions a week!) I have now reinstated them all as Virtual Club Runs. Our running club facebook page is going to look a lot like a series of Fetch running forums. :-)

So far the response has been really positive - it looks like there were plenty of people who now feel they have a purpose to run when they can share it with the club.

School have been in contact this eve confirming closure Friday and canvassing how many parents consider themselves "key workers", though at this stage they've no idea what they will offer, nor when, to those children.

We've taken the decision to remove the kids *now* - really worried they'll catch a simple cold/cough (there's been one doing the rounds - and it's NOT the plague) and we'll have to self-isolate unnecessarily for 14 days. Confident we'll have had the wretched thing by the end of the Easter hols (unavoidable in our professions), so won't have to worry by then about random colds and can send them back. They were breaking up next week anyway. Husband reckons he can go to emergency call outs from Monday, and manage most routine stuff by phone from home. Oldest boy will be in charge in the meantime...what could go wrong?!

Yes it's interesting GH how much club runners seem to want to 'share' their running. Maybe that's why we joined a club in the first place rather than carrying on running solo.

I've just been having a chat about 'compliers' and 'non-compliers' with regard to the guidance against having group runs now. I've always been a complier and my closest friends on the committee are too. But it's obvious that there are plenty of non-compliers in the club too. Ironically, two of them are in the highest risk group. There's a sort of gung-ho bravado but it's just as socially irresponsible as if someone at low risk was to do it.

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2020 thread, everybody welcome. The thread motto is:
'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

At normal times: All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles. Extra points for bins :-) And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed, sometimes even running.
