Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’m going to attempt to broaden my music taste

I’ve started from #1 on the fetchies list and working my way down.

SPRINTS wasn’t my typical genre but fine to listen to (ultra/slow jog is more my style to be fair)

That's a good idea Dave. Sprints are good, I will say if you get to the very bottom of the list just don't listen to Yamiuta by Kanashimi, it's 45 minutes of your life wasted.

I think it actually came out last year but I've just listened to the Yannis and the Yaw EP on Spotify. Not sure it's that much different from the rest of The Foals stuff but it was a good listen. If an album comes out I'll definitely consider buying it.

I kind of ground to a halt in 2023 ...

But I've actually listened to something new today. Well, digitally released in 2024, but not physically until next week. By a band that's been going for twenty years, although eliciting no more than a "vaguely heard of" from me. Actually, there's an awful lot of bands in that category. Anyway, a band never before mentioned in thread, Tuung, with "Love You All Over Again". Folktronica, with more than a hint of hauntology. Recommended for fans of the more pastoral side of Ghost Box Recordings.

(I came across them as they helmed a Freak Zone Playlist with a "listening to in 2005" selection bbc.co.uk )

Thought I’d take a look at the list of new album releases on Wikipedia for 2025 and give a listen to them.

Lil’ Baby - Wham is first on the list, not my normal genre of music but it isn’t too bad.

Already listened to the new Franz Ferdinand a few times now, sounds very much like scouting for girls and not the type they did back in the day

Mogwai's new album is very good as expected. Will put a review up on that soon.

Enjoying quite a lot of new songs on 6 music at the moment so looking forward to some albums that will follow. The Horrors being one of them.

Already had a listen to the new Manics album and its sounding great. The fact they've had a few of the songs on radio for a few months gives it a bit of familiarity.

Scrap that. Album delayed for a week and i only listened to what was available. hence the familiarity :). Dangers to listening on the smart speaker :)

Ah... I was just about to ask about that. I saw it had been put back. How much is currently available?
