Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Happy new year all! Here's to an injury free 2023.

I'm back and hopefully I'll complete it this year.

I'm completing a half programme and the milage has been really light so far so I'm a bit behind but it's a marathon not a sprint ;)

Well done FF, a great start to the New Year.

EP that's also a great start. I'm well below the line at present.

Happy New Year duo. I'm sure you will hit the target.

Plenty of time to go everyone and itโ€™s always harder in this weather.

5 with my pal today around Durham we went to the cathedral and kind of stood out as we ventured through to get out the other side. Another fabulous social run. 33m since the 1st and 30.8 for the week ๐ŸŒŸ

Also done 7 yoga sessions and 1 strength so now to keep up this great work.

Iโ€™m well below the line but holidays were always going to be challenging as I suffer a lot when itโ€™s hot. Also Iโ€™m a day ahead!

I was doing ok but have got a bit of cold and cough so sod it for a day or two! It'll take me a good while to catch up on lost miles because of the heart thing

I'm always amazed at people fitting in all sorts of extra physical activities too! I do weights and stretches twice, maybe three times a week but my recorded evidence doesn't show any benefits to my running; so I do them as stand alone potential benefits to overall well being. (?!). Having said that I've also done Transcendental Meditation for donkeys years which is supposed to give many benefits (evidence based) but I'm still waiting!!๐Ÿ˜‚
Back in the day when times were fast and the body could tolerate it I never did anything other than run!

You're doing well with the yoga gg. Holidays are for relaxing LL so you're spot on!

A very good weekly mileage GG, and also the yoga and strength session. I'm sure that they will pay dividends.

Holidays are important LL, and relaxing from a training regime for a few days can be very beneficial.

Sorry to hear about your cough and cold Steve. Definitely take a few rest days to recover. I wouldn't worry to much about the 1000 miles target. I'm also well below the line, but concentrating more these days on endeavouring to stay injury free, so I can keep running for as long as possible.

I ran a hilly 10k on roads this morning with a running friend. It was a steady, but enjoyable chatty run ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿƒ

Take it easy Steve.
Well done for your 10k hillstrider.
Well done EP and Duo too, a year is 12 months after all.
Tomorrow's weather looks awful so I went out this morning for a steady 5.5 miles.
