Notes & Comments

Reverse parkrun for the 6 month anniversary. I was overtaken by a faster runner and stuck to his heels. On the last lap I realised it was a slow pace so I picked up the pace and overtook him. He stayed with me for a while before I pulled away. I wanted to catch the guy in front of me and dug deep to find a sprint finish and finish 5th overall. I was 28 seconds slower than last week when I finished 14th overall.

1) 3.12m - 22:05(7:05/m) 167/184bpm 292cal 8.46/11.53mph

Helped with finish token support this week.

You haven't lost that finishing speed of yours :-) Were there fewer runners due to the wind?

I think I'd run slower being behind the 'faster' runner so I had a bit left in the tank. I hadn't checked pace until the last lap and it looked like a 22.30 so I tried to pick up the pace and had the chap in a red shirt in my sites, he took some catching but I was determined and caught him about 20 meters from the line.
