Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

Gloucester 20, 37/512

Very pleased with the outcome of this run, plan in effect worked in regards to a negative split but the splits were not consistent as the course had a couple of minor undulations/was a slight wind (nothing to complain about) Managed to control the pace fairly well for the first 10-12km but then when was aiming to go quicker and then quicker again which I did achieve but not on the gradual rise as I intended.

Only took on 1.5 shot blocks at 60, 80, 105 minutes - might be worth trying to do more, two small sips of water but was from cups which is a nightmare.

Learning points - need to do something with nipples as are very sore now, what fuel works best...could feel myself flagging at the end.

Positives - worked way through field, not overtaken by anyone all race (one guy at 3km but got him back), dont feel could of maintained speed at the end, but do think I could of held something together until 42.2km...I think!

4.17, 4.19, 4.21, 4.20, 4.14, 4.23, 4.26, 4.23, 4.18, 4.21, 4.20, 4.23, 4.15, 4.06, 4.09, 4.12, 4.14, 4.07, 4.10, 4.03, 4.08, 4.07, 4.01, 4.02, 4.13, 4.12, 4.06, 4.10, 3.59, 4.06, 4.02, 4.02, (.16 - .33seconds)

Additional information as wore HR monitor:
165bpm av, 186bpm max, 177 av cadence,

Great race. Looking at the splits really brings home how quick that is. Even managed a sub 4 min km late on. Sets you up great for the final push to the Marathon.

It was hard work out there, but strong field so always someone to aim at or lap!

Great work Pete. Sets you up brilliantly for the marathon next month.

Great looking run Pete - it is just so fast it is hard to believe as I read through the splits!
Please wait... saving your change.
