_andy Sensible start (i.e. didn't burn-up early on) - then through the muddy off-road section which was tougher than last year, including a serious bit of splashing during the third mile. Steadily pulled back the odd place from then on - four in all before the last mile, where I managed to hold off a fast-approaching Kirkintilloch runner. 28s slower than last year, but with the aquatic section plus a couple of fallen trees to detour round, there's not much in it.
