Oscar's Everyone Day

In 2021 Oscar the Grouch proposed one day each year where "we unite as a community and EVERYONE records an activity of some sort - a dog walk, a run, a swim, a ride, ski if you want...".

Sadly we lost Oscar in March 2024, so now we dedicate Everyone Day to him. Thank you for the inspiration you gave us Oscar.

About this parkrun

Gently undulating two lapper (standard course) round a park. Mix of hard paths and grass sections. Alternate course is relatively hilly.

2 laps on tarmac and grass fields. Get there by 8:25 for easy parking. Mostly gently undulating, with 2 climbs on the back half of the course. No cafe on site so try not to need the loos before the run.

Summer course is 2 laps of Basingstoke War Memorial Park, which is a mix of grass and tarmac paths. A small climb known as tennis court hill, although its not much of a hill! Winter course was 3 laps on mainly tarmac paths, but is changing.

Big, well-established parkrun. Easy parking. First lap round a field a bit dull. The rest is pretty with some hills.
