Did my long run today and got two Goreilla's - I usually only get 2 a month! The benefits of recruiting some clubmates to the world of Fetch :) Also got my first 100K random so double chuffed

Andy, thanks for the bug link. I note the bug article and flower articles are in different sections of the articles page, so that is my excuse for not finding it.

Any etiquette on flower picking? If I look, I see big clusters of flowers so obviously people who do a regular route and nobody else overlaps, so I see a track about 4 miles from my home point which is used by just one person. A 10 mile loop and one lap of the track would harvest me maybe 40 flowers at maybe 3000 points each so over 120k. Good, bad, part of the game?

I worried about the etiquette of this last summer, Phil. General consensus was that flower picking is a Good Thing for both parties concerned.

Part of the game is good. I try and vary my long runs and so may run across, for instance, Wimbledon Common 2 or 3 times a year and pick a load of flowers and leave a trail. I won't water those flowers so unless someone picks them, they will just die. I did a few sections of the Grand Union Canal in January (10 miles out and 10 miles back) so planted a lot of flowers but won;t revisit these sections until Jan next year for marathon training.

So flower picking is working for me. 7.5 miles at lunchtime and grabbed about 175k points. Bugs are under control (about 1500 points a day lost) but my home territory is split into 6 parts by the A4 and Thames running east/west and the Hammersmith and Piccadilly line going north/south so I can only address a sextant at a time so tidying it up takes about 3 weeks as I do a couple of recovery runs a week.

I have a marathon on Saturday. It is on an airfield in the middle of nowhere with not a single marker on it so I assume I will plant a bunch of flowers and if they are unpicked they will be left to die. I assume in these scenarios the best bet is to upload quickly in the hope that someone uploads afterwards and picks all my flowers. Is that right? The race portfolio shows a few fetchpointers.

1) The scoreboard and markers don't 'reset' on the first of the month any more. They work on a rolling 30 day system.
2) You only need to worry about red bugs.
