Just some thoughts that came to me whilst washing up the other night :

It was only a couple of years ago that the programme seemed like it was more about the assistant (and her boyfriend) than the man in question. Clara seems to have been written to counter that accusation.

So, the Dr rescued the sister in the spaceship but not the brother?

How about - he did rescue the brother, and placed in him the school prior to the episode?

This means that i) This school is being used as a gathering place for potential assistants. ii) The Dr has taken a look at his current assistant, realised it's not going to work for much longer, and placed him ready to go on adventures

Finally, if the Dr can place a time bubble around someone to rescue them - then surely anybody with a functioning time machine can do so ? Yet, that 'Missy' seems friendly on the face of it ?

Anyway, enough of my rambling - the 'Robot of Sherwood' episode looks like it's going to be a lot of fun !

Of course, if you have a time bubble thingy you can endlessly snatch people away seconds before death and build up a cadre of people who won't be missed (used in a few SF novels over the years) and more importantly, owe you their lives (literally) so will do almost anything for you in return - handy if you want to take your evil-nemesis-type-revenge on a Time Lord.

Unless the Spirit of the Tardis is suffering from a multiple personality disorder, then I'm willing to bet Missy is the baddy because.....
Feminine of Master - Mistress. Diminutive form? Missy. Rather obvious, don't you think?

I'm going to stake my claim that Missy is a baddy too.

'The Promised Land' sounds to me like it may be the name of a ship, like the Madame du Pompadour. So is 'Paradise' another clockwork robot run ship? Remember the Pompadour had time travelling portals.

We've seen the cyborg (who jumped or was pushed out of the airship) and the soldier who sacrificed herself end up at Missy's tea-table. Is she collecting beings whose life is cut short by their encounter with the Doctor?

I'm intruiged by her Mary Poppins-like appearance - someone who is blown in on the wind, or someone who can travel easily through space and time...

Yes, that was my thought regarding "Missy" but how/why after the last time we saw him (attacking Timothy Dalton) ? She/he seems too knowing to be using the watch device in order to mask her true identity? Unless, in the manner of River Song , she really is a future girlfriend ??
