Was only in the water a couple of seconds as I jumped down to get him back. Since being home, has been going mad licking and chewing his feet, scratching himself and going mad rolling about (trying to scratch it I assume). Could it be anything more serious than a bit of irritation from the water? Just bathed him to see if that helps.

I wouldn't panic but keep an eye on him obviously. I guessed it was an agri-chemical of some sort that irritated them.

We'd kept him away because he was getting grumpy. The vet says his joints are physically OK, but there's no way of knowing if being 'a bit stiff' was part of his bad mood and recommended a short break to give him a chance to recover. We've had a lot of disruption with building work and furniture moving so I think that's stressed Jet as well. Things should calm down next week.
