Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Some dogs can have a Turkey allergy. Might be worth trying a different protein, especially if paw biting continues. Are stools firm?

Roberto. Jet is a working cocker and had an operation when he was young to remove the additional eyelashes that we're growing inside the lid and scratching his eye. It's a known breed issue. Think it was called dystachia. Has your vet checked this as a possible cause of weepy eyes? (It is *very* difficult to see)

Morning experts. Skye seems to be FULL of energy (like insanely so), but really not interested in her food. She eats it eventually, but she'd much rather we played with her. Constantly. I am assuming it's nothing to worry about... I hope so! I'm not used to a breed that isn't food obsessed!

Something like this:

amazon.co.uk

helped Luna. She lost interest around 6 months. Don't need to use it now - she will eat anything.

Also if you do think about changing food, remember to do it gradually and check out the rating here:

allaboutdogfood.co.uk

Too many changes can make for a fussy eater though so be careful ;)

Sorry for the triple post but just remembered - I think Luna went off her food because she was hanging out for the better fresh chicken we used as treats. Generally a dog won't starve unless it's ill and they can go a day or so without food.

My best purchase was a thermometer so that I can be sure she has not got a temperature when she is not eating. Saves a fortune on vet fees!

Post 4... Sorry!

She is 5 months so likely sore gums too from teething. You could soak her kibble in warm water for 10 minutes before feeding and see if that helps.

Think I'm done now!

Good idea about the soaking. She is definitely teething. Keeps getting blood on her favourite ball and I have found the odd tooth on the floor.

And I agree on the chicken comment too. That's what I am using for training treats.

Will go look at your links now too. Cheers! She seems absolutely fine in herself, so I am not too concerned tbh. And she's drinking water, so won't be dehydrated.

It is worrying with a puppy - I was the same with Luna even though I had been through it twice before. You tend to forget how often they just aren't hungry. Normally a vet will say as long as they are not lethargic and still drinking it should be fine.

Eye is conjunctivitis. Had to double check with vet as dog walker usually gets him so he can't mix.

In terms of food, he gets the salmon and potato variation rather than turkey. Stools are usually firm and paw biting hasnt happened before or since.

He just came across his first live animal to chase. He has gone for birds but always comes back when I shout or whistle. This time, it was a weasel (I think, definitely in the mustelid family anyway) and he really went after it and would not come back, I always leave his harness on so I have something to grab though so got him away.

Its amazing the change as he became really animated and sniffing and in the hunting pose, shows how intrinsic it all is.
