We also needed treats so have stocked up. I was joking with QP that if we get stuck we might need to eat dog food. If we get really stuck the dog might be in trouble.

I have offered to pay a retainer fee to keep his place with her until it's all over. I can't really justify paying £20 a week for walks that we don't need and that put us all at risk of infection.

The lovely vets are giving me a telephone consult once a week with questions to answer that they hope will tell them whether he is in need of any intervention. Still gentle walks on lead to protect his knee, but it's not safe to operate until they understand the kidney issues. If I think he's in pain they'll give me a different (to Metacam) painkiller.
