He does look very serene!
I’ve just given my two a ‘Tesco Dental Stick for Large Dogs’. It might’ve done the Whippet some good (5 minutes of chewing) but the Labrador just bit hers in half and then swallowed the lot within 3 seconds. Don’t think it’ll have had much of an an impact on her teeth!

Her intestines will be lovely and clean though
Anyone else got snow. Ernie's absolutely loving it. He does come home with a significant amount attached to his legs though.

Rory and I are in the car, waiting for it to be time for Special Needs Dog School. It’s bloody freezing and I’m starving. He’d better be in the mood to cooperate.

There is 13g of sultana/raisin/dried fruit in a deep-fill mince pie. Guess how I know? Guess which dog ate the mince pie just a few minutes after the vet's surgery closed? Guess which dog was fed a second dinner immediately afterwards to try to dilute the effect of the dried fruit? One website estimates the serious dose as 3g/kg of bodyweight. Guess who is sitting up all night in case the dog gets poorly. Guess who is going to be on the phone at 8am as soon as the surgery re-opens?

He slept all night and ran round the garden this morning.
He looks fat but I'm more inclined to blame two dinners under his winter coat.
No lethargy, no d&v.
I wanted to check how quickly Flossie had reacted when she ate the dried fruit, but couldn't find the posts.

I'm putting it off for a couple of hours (they are open until 1pm) because I suspect that as soon as I call them they will want to treat him as a precautionary measure and I'm undecided about the balance between 'necessary' and 'best practice'. The insurance would cover most of the cost if he's kept in but Jet would be stressed and I don't want him to have unnecessary interventions. I recall that Flossie ate a Christmas cake with no ill effects so it isn't always fatal. Hmmm... not sure what to do for the best.
