They're a bit like a snake but I've never seen one in Yorkshire (we lived in Hampshire). They used to drop the end of their tail when caught, it grows back. Think they are a legless lizard.

Hopefully it will regain composure and fly off. The cat is desperately head butting the locked cat flap to get out there and get it.
