Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. (1 Thess 5:5)
And good morning to you, O PoD.

Darkness is all around.
Ask and ye shall receive wisdom.
Your soul is mine.
Morning indeed and a fine day
Even got the motorbike out.

5m 2.96. Okay, in band.
Then it all goes horribly, horribly wrong.

Dim question re Dorney: What time is sensible to arrive, given the 14:20 start?

Depends if you're a serial flapper. I'd have aimed for no later than noon. It's easily 20 minutes pushing your bike from car park to boathouse.
(not a dim question at all - Dorney's perfectly straightforward if you've raced there a few times before - otherwise it's all a bit like a first experience of departure at a busy airport).

As Greppers says. Also come ready to set the bike up next to your car, and have everything in a bag to carry to registration so you can register, sticker things up and shove 'em in Transition.
You'll probably not want to have to go back to the car after registering to set up then go back to the Boathouse to rack.
You then have a 'back to the car' vs 'hang about and watch the carnage' decision depending on how far away kick off is.

If the weather's decent, Dorney is a pleasant place to sit and watch - there's usually a group in the water and there are always people out on the bike and run.
