if no pavement then as far left as possible! I have six squares since yesterday that looked highly unlikely.

Bob!
I wonder how closely the non run squares correspond to Fetchpoint no entry squares

At the end of month 5, I’ve done a bit of catching up: 4364 squares in total (+1944 since end April) of which 3222 are running only (+1734). Holidays away definitely help! |

Just noticed the squares in my grid don't fit anywhere near as well as Rosehip's above. I'm guessing this is the result of squaring a globe won't ever tesselate perfectly as you said above. I checked my squares for other parts of the world and some array of rectangles and large blank gaps.

Rosehip wrote: My garden is spread across six squares because it the way the squares line up. One of the neighbours gave me some spare lettuce seedlings a while back. I might need to reciprocate with some leeks and cabbages and try to wangle an invite into her garden to get an extra square we have back gardens not far away bigger than the squares, but it's mostly fields that are unreachable ![]() |

First image is the centre of my grid. Absolutely fine. Second image towards the top left of my grid. It's starting to get half a square out. I was guessing this was just because as you go north / south (or perhaps east / west too) the squares will offset on a globe. If I look at the squares, there's a slight gap at the east / west edges to the next. If I move to my brothers (down in Suffolk) that gap disappears and possibly a slight overlap. It I look at some of the squares I have in Scotland the gap is more apparent. It made me then look at historic squares I have in Iceland: These are all adjacent squares. And Hawaii Where the squares become basically vertical lines. Much of which isn't very important really, it was more the rabbit hole I went down when I realised the squares didn't quite fit the grid. |

In fact from memory, the previous circles had tighter / looser fit at different latitudes.
