Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I don't know if this has been shared before, but I came across it looking at an area on the Isle of Dogs where my eldest is probably going to be living from August. It's a series of maps showing how London has changed over the years since 1700, with articles about some areas. I could spend hours looking at this.

Question for the map lovers!

Plotting a route on Fetch on a path I haven't used before.
I can see the footpath suddenly ends before a road starts but there is a gap.
do you think this is something you can walk across or will it likely be a dead end?

Can you tell from Google maps? Either the satellite view or the streetview car view?

Otherwise I've also used the global heatmap on the site that can't be mentioned (sorry!) to see if / how often certain routes used.

My guess is the above looks good but you never know, could be fenced off or a garden or similar and limited access across, could even be old access now no longer possible.

Didn't realise OS maps was free on Bing. Very handy (though I honestly can't remember what parts I've used on the OS site itself).
