Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Poppy is limping today 😕

I am not surprised, the way she crashes around the place.

Still limping this morning so we've been to the vets.

She dragged me down the corridor and jumped all over the vet. "Would you believe she has a sore foot?" I asked him.

Anyway, he is not concerned that she has done anything serious, so pain relief and two weeks rest.

Oh dear, my house is going to get trashed, pointers don't do 'rest'.

(Mr Potato Head was in the bin before the end of Christmas Day btw.)

Well, if they made a human pain killer as effective as Rheumacam appears to be for dogs...

Poppy is crashing sbout the place causing mayhem, even with a poorly foot.
I think it was all a ruse.

Checking in to say that Jet has recovered his bounce, and that we are now back to a sensible level of meds for a bewildered, blind, deaf and arthritic older dog. The puncture wounds are healing well.

I hadn't realised that we are quite well known until people I thought were strangers stopped me in the street to ask about his health. Today we visited Wrest Park (didn't go in, too crowded, Narnia thing going on) and heard 'How is your dog now?" called across the grass.

The dog that attacked Jet has a 6 year history of attacks on other dogs - three that I know were reported to the police, and at least one other that wasn't. The police took over and asked me not to contact the owner. Private messages I've received suggest that would be a wise approach anyway.
We've been taking Jet out of the house and he is quite happy to carefully approach humans that he likes, and has had some positive encounters with other friendly dogs. He's temporarily crashed out asleep but will wake in an hour to start pacing the house - situation normal.

I'm glad Jet is making a good recovery. I hope the police deal with the owner of the other dog appropriately. The dog was 'dangerously out of control' if you also were in fear that you might be attacked/bitten (I am not sure what the law is regarding attack on another dog - it previously wasn't something they would usually bring a charge over - but if as a person you thought you might also be attacked at the time then it is still dangerously out of control, it doesn't actually have to bite you to press a charge against the owner.)

Glad to hear Jet is back to 'normal'. I really hope the police can take some action. It's bad enough that this dog is allowed to wander around out of any control but the fact that there have been several attacks now it really shouldn't be allowed to continue.
