Thought about hiring one from Decathlon first to see how we go, but by the time we hire it for a week while on holiday we may as well have just bought it. We bought a 3 person inflatable kayak from Decathlon some years back. Haven't used it as much as I would have liked, and even less so since getting my paddleboard. I got it with the intention of kayaking with OH and the third seat being big enough to take a decent picnic. Now there's the possibility of one day taking our granddaughter. But after having had it a while I really wished we'd got two separate possibly double ones instead. We could rarely coordinate our paddling properly (OH reckons my timing is out, I think as he sits behind he should be able to take my lead...) He doesn't like it as much as I do, so is less inclined to want to come out. A double I could do on my own, but not the triple. |

Our big canoe (not inflatable) hardly ever goes out now. I said to wife when I got the paddleboards that I didn't expect we'd use it much and should sell, but she wanted to keep it. We'll probably get rid of it, esp now as we have the sailing dinghy for doing things together. ![]() |

We were moored overnight the night before near Chanonary Point, having been down to watch the dolphins. Then got up canoe/sail there before moving yesterday. |

Jeez you guys have been so close to my house. You could have paddled from Fortrose to Avoch for a cuppa.
