Did a 7.2 mile progressive run in the Reebok Floatride Fast Pro today and can confirm they are nice and fast. Average pace 6:43, last 10km (so excluding warm up mile) 6:33 pace and last 5km 6:12 pace. Cushioning is exceptional for weight and legs not beat up from the pace, PEBAX is definitely a good responsive cushioning material. Can't speak for marathon as no idea how that feels but I'm pretty sure I'd be happy to wear them for a HM.
Will be on the lookout for a second pair, would be tempted at full price if they were the last pair in my size.

Who's going to be buying the next% then?
If they have a lower heel drop I'd be a bit concerned that they will be a little tougher on the calf

8mm is still quite a bit of drop. Seems to put them in line with a lot of standard running shoes and Nike's previous marathon racer of choice the Streak. What drop were people's racers before the Nike's came along?

Fair enough. Would take some getting used to depending what else you run in but if 10mm is standard for you, I'd expect 8mm would be manageable.

the question I will need to ask myself is when I next need a new pair of race shoes is it 4% or Next%. Would seem odd to me not to try the new version, however wacky they look.
So I think the answer to your question Chris is probably yes. I'm not that close though to needing a news pair in all honesty.
It might be different if they'd labelled them 6%, I might fall for that more directly! Don't think they were allowed to though.
Sounds like I need to take a look at these Reebok too.

I wonder whether a new version comes out when they hit 5% (apparently these are between 4-5%).

I quite like the style, something a bit different.
I’ve had lower drop shoes before but if you can’t do the miles to get used to them then I do struggle in the calf department on a marathon.
My vapors have only done 130 miles so there should be plenty of life in them yet.

I couldn't believe how many people were walking around London in the vaporflys after the run yesterday. Mine came off as soon as I got my bag
