I like doing my volunteering stuff. Whilst I could give it up and "someone else will step up to do it" I could say that of every working job I ever had. The graveyard is full of people who were "indispensable". So I do a bit of volunteering here and there and that fulfils me enough. Very much agree in deed . |

alpenrose that's great news on your SP invitation, it arrived when you said it should. Within a week of my invitation I had the letter with the precise amount and date of first payment and subsequent 4 weekly payments thereafter |

ar - yes, mine was also easy and everything on time. Assuming you can register/respond on-line, I think everything's automated.

I went on the gov website to get my projected state pension. Our state pensions are rubbish but it was still more than I was banking on. #winwin

HappyG(rrr) - from The Times today. Not sure if you've tried it, or if it will help you? Savers can now get help to hunt down hundreds of millions of pounds worth of lost assets. The Investment Association (IA), a trade body, launched the IA Unclaimed Assets Portal on Monday, an online platform designed to help reunite about £780 million of investment assets with their owners. Users can go to theia.org/unclaimedassets and register, for free, and the IA’s tool will search for any lost investments then connect you with the company holding them. If nothing is found, your details will still be kept on the system and you will be notified if anything is found later. Investments can be lost when savers move house or job and forget to update their information. Finding a lost pension pot or investment fund without the new portal can involve fruitless searches for missing paperwork or contact details of old employers. The firms also have to conduct rigorous checks before passing over lost assets. The Dormant Assets Bill, which became law in February, means that unclaimed pensions and investments can now be donated to good causes. Money left in lost bank accounts for 15 years could already be donated this way, but that has now been expanded, although the time that has to elapse before unclaimed investments and pensions can be donated will be longer. If your money is passed to the Dormant Assets Scheme, you can still get it back if you manage to track down where it was held. theia.org |
