Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Wow shades that’s a fantastic story.

I’ve just had a month off and loved every second.

Being able to train whenever I want to name but one advantage.

I’ve 34 shifts left before my official date of April 6th not that I’m counting!

Mrs axe for all the right reasons left my current employer about 15 years ago with 15 years service. While that was the correct decision at the time, if she had remained we would have been in a great position. As it stands though we only have about 1.5 pensions between us.

Reading all these retirement stories has convinced me, I will hand my in my notice in 6 weeks and retire in 19. I will not look back or even think of looking for locum work after I have left the building!

I think with everything going on at the moment if you can seize the day and can afford it be brave and do it.

Of course I do understand those who are lucky enough to do work they enjoy.

Mine current job has been 25 years of paying my bills only. I am grateful that it’s afforded me a pension that I can live on 😀
