Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

A thoroughly feel-good, comforting, happy book.

Not a particularly good novel.

Looking at the titles of the author's other works, I suspect he has found a rich vein and is busy mining it. Sorry to be cynical.

The Protestant Reformation did away with purgatory, but I notice it often creeps back in a slightly different guise.

No, I mean the one that tells you the five people are Jon Voight, Ellen Burstyn, Jeff Daniels, Dagmara Dominczyk, and Michael Imperioli. :-)

Finished it last night about 2 minutes to midnight.

Started unsure about it even though its been on my radar for years.
Took me more than a day to read few shattering shifts at work. Soon warmed to Eddie and I felt sorry for him. Did get emotional towards/the end because I'm a soppy git.

I read it in the bath last night.
I thought it was pretty boring, not well written, full of clichées. Even though I fell asleep twice, I managed to keep it dry. Took just under 3 hours to plough through it...

Now, where did I put down Ulysses 😎

I last saw it in the Post Office. I rarely get any further than that.
