Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

I'm thinking about treating myself for Christmas, are these any good?

Or should I be looking at one of those torpedo looking things from Bose or B&W?

Thanks

I've got 2 x Sonos 1's in separate rooms and they are great. The sound is good and the app is easy to use. I haven't used the other though so can't compare them to other brands so best to see what suits your needs.

Yep I'm sure you can work it from a laptop. Although I use my tablet and phone. You can link to iTunes from the app though. You can also setup Spotify, Apple Music, amazon and various others on the app

oi you
We've got 2 Play5s set up as a stereo pair in the lounge. Sound quality is very good, and streaming has been mostly pretty reliable.
Mostly we stream from Tidal, but can also play music stored on my PC.
I haven't used any other kit either, so can't offer a comparison.

We went down the Apple airplay music route, and bought the B&W Zeppelin with Airplay. It's been a bit of a disaster and consistently drops out. In other rooms tho we use Airport express with powered speakers and that's much more effective, plus the Airport express acts as a wifi booster. We liked Airport/Airplay because it's so simple to use from iTunes, and you can play different music in different rooms. The Airplay speakers tho are a bit hit and miss, this is the second one we've had that's not been all that great.

Oh and you can use Airport/Airplay speakers for the BBC radio app so you can listen via your phone without needing an additional radio.
